It was dark and could hear strange sounds all around me. So old and abandoned, I could hardly remember the days when it was full of joy and sparkling voices spreading all over the vast number of rooms. Nevertheless I walked deeper in the darkness of the living room getting ready to leave, as suddenly I saw something glittering next to the chair. Although I can’t be called curious I couldn’t help inspecting it. One single touch and an old ring with the phoenix as a symbol brought me into the past I’ve never been before, but so familiar at the same time.
‘’ Mum, please don’t…no, just let him go!!!’’- I saw myself so clear.
‘’ You can’t change anything! Put the gun down! ‘’
‘’ Get off, Margery, I have to show that pig, who is in charge here!’’
‘’ No, Bradley, think of our son!’’
A short battle, a single twitch of a trigger, a lonely shot. He didn’t want to… I know. He was begging, crying, asking her to come back, but still it was too late, a silly bullet belonging to one who really deserved it, put an end to everything. The next minute all around me turned back to the places, I couldn’t catch my breath, mum was standing in front. She whispered only two words.
‘’Not guilty…’’ When I was leaving the place I knew that I certainly could go on. The blistering sun was shining once again and the light breeze blew my tears away.
